Primus Australia becomes first retail service provider to receive B2B interoperability certification from NBN Co
Melbourne, Australia: Primus Australia, a part of PTGi (Primus Telecommunications Group, Inc. – NYSE:PTGi) has today announced that it is the first retail service provider (RSP) to receive NBN Co s business-to-business (B2B) interoperability certification.
Primus Australia will now utilise NBN Co s B2B Gateway for direct systems integration, supporting automated order management, assurance and billing operations for services provided on the NBN to end user customers.
Primus Australia will be the first RSP in Australia to provide the real time provisioning of services to customers on the NBN network.  This will enable customers to order multiple products and receive on the spot appointment and management information in just one phone call. The full integration between Primus and NBN Co s IT systems will also allow high volume orders to be processed effectively as automated systems have replaced inefficient manual processes.
This is another milestone achieved by Primus as it continues to work towards the seamless transfer of services from copper to fibre and deliver consumer focused products and services on these new networks,  said Primus Australia s CEO, Tom Mazerski.
NBN Co s adoption of ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language) as standard for its Gateway has created an easy to use, secure framework that will deliver an enhanced customer experience. Its deployment has enabled Primus Australia and NBN Co to develop the customer solution in-house, removing the requirement to engage external consultants or resources.
Primus applauds NBN Co s adoption and implementation of the ebXML standard, providing access seekers with a scalable, extendable and standardized business-to-business data interchange methodology,  commented Primus Australia s General Manager, Information Services, Matthew Proctor.    ebXML is being adopted globally as an alternative to traditional EDI standards, and Primus is delighted to see NBNCo s implementation, creating a framework for integrating future enhancements and service offerings to access seekers such as Primus and our customers.
Today s announcement reinforces Primus Australia s commitment to the accelerated roll-out of its Fibre-to-Home products service.  It also further strengthens its collaborative relationship with NBN Co to deliver high quality, affordable services that fulfil a broad range of customer needs.
